Colle della corte

Both the vineyard and its wine, Colle della Corte, are named for the area on which they are planted. The wine is composed of Barbera, Montepulciano and Merlot. The vineyard, of 6 hectares, was planted in 2004 in the valley of the Amaseno, below the borgo of Prossedi. The first vintage was in 2007.

Production zone: From the Colle della Corte vineyard, in the hills alongside the Amaseno river valley, at an altitude of 100 metres. It stretches along a ventilated slope facing three directions: south-west, east and south-east, about 15 kilometres from the sea

Soil: Layered rock, with a base of limestone topped with clay banks and some marine sediment

Harvest Throughout: September, manually

Vinification: After the grapes have been crushed and de-stemmed, fermentation begins between 28-30°C. The maceration takes place in stainless steel tanks over about 30 days with daily punching down and over. In March-April the new wine is transferred to a family of barriques of second and third passage, where it ages for 12 months. It is then assembled and bottled. It is bottle-fined for at least 4 months before being sold.
